While our final stop on this astonishing journey across America is the International Quilt Festival in Houston, it is not necessarily what this tour is all about. It is indeed a quilting, sightseeing and, at times, culinary spectacular which showcases many of the more extraordinarily beautiful parts of North America.

From the magnificence of New England in the fall, to Cape Cod (including visits to the stunning islands of Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket), through Rhode Island and Connecticut and into the heart of New York the “hits” just keep on coming. Throw in Washington, DC and a taste of New Orleans before 5 days in Houston at the world’s largest annual quilt show, sale and quiltmaking academy and we really do have a journey like no other.

Tonight, we’re left to your own devices to find dinner but as the Corsair & Cross Rip Hotel is in the middle of a great variety of restaurants we won’t have any problem finding something that will suit any taste. Indeed, the Ocean House Restaurant, The Ebb Tide, the Wooden Shoe Inc all provide excellent fare and for those with a sweeter tooth then the Sundae School should prove most alluring. Then off to bed and dream of the magical 3 days that lie ahead.
