"On the face of it the brief wasn’t overly complex as my extended whanau and I wanted to go to Monte Casino and Florence to visit relative’s graves from WWII. In addition we wanted Epic Journeys to wrap an interesting journey around our pilgrimage and we had about 3 weeks in total available. What Epic Journeys gave us though was a trip of a lifetime and completely exceeded every expectation we had – throughout our journey we had English speaking guides and in specific areas, local guides as well. The guides were world class and provided such a sympathetic and knowledgeable accompaniment to our trip, some of them have become life-long friends.
